I was a new patient with a consult for ortho shoe inserts. I met Dr. Alex Gorenshtein, D.P.M. at the first appointment. He was nice and had good a good demeanor. The problem is that I waited 50 minutes to be seen by the doctor. My appointment was early in the day, so it's strange that they were already that far behind. The second appointment was about three weeks later to be fitted for the inserts. My appointment was at 9am and I arrived on time. At 9:15am I was told the doctor was still in with a patient and that there was another patient in front of me. I explained that I could not wait since I did not block my entire day off to see the doctor and I left. It would have been another hour-long-wait. They sent me a bill for $25 for "missing" the appointment. Their policy is on their Website, stating that there is a $25 fee for missed and cancelled appointments within a 24-hour window. I did not miss the appointment...they missed the appointment. I spoke with the billing person, and the office manager and explained, but they would not dismiss the charge. They said I did not wait long enough. How long is long enough? Please go visit this doctor if you have an entire day and want to experience a scheduling fiasco where their time is all that matters...not yours.
