Excellent spot for Kayaks and canoes and perhaps a john boat. Water depth at the ramp is very shallow when the river runs slowly, just a few feet. When it's deeper the current is usually to fast for boating. If you go upstream from that point the water drops to 4-10 ft for about 200-300 yards but becomes shallow again after that. Down stream the water is generally between 1-5' with most of it running about 2', but down river there are some deeper spots. Fishing for small mouth bass and pan fish here is excellent. I've spent a lot of time down stream here and seen otters, deer and 2 bears (that were terrified of me). All and all its quiet and from a fishing perspective doesn't get a lot of pressure compared to other places I fish.
