Usually suspicious of kitschy spellings like 'Kidz World,' 'shoppes,' 'pointe,' or 'tha' anything, I nevertheless went to Car Lotz on the recommendation of a friend who had a great experience buying a Volvo from them. I was attempting to sell a vehicle that was fairly old but had low mileage and was in great shape. Carmax (more kitsch) had offered a mere pittance and I knew I could do better. Long story short, Car Lotz got me a 46% increase over that offer and it took them less than two weeks to do it. This is the closest you'll get to a private sale without having to do your own legwork, and even then you won't reach as wide an audience or exude credibility as does Car Lotz. I'm truly amazed, not just at their ability to get me more than I thought possible for my vehicle, but the ease with which they did it, the easy-going, professional, knowledgeable staff, and the complete lack of BS associated with the process. The truth is, I left Car Lotz, check in hand, feeling certain I'll be back again next time I need to BUY a vehicle. Their lot was FULL of high quality, late-model vehicles and it occurred to me that every time I've bought a brand new car I've pissed away thousands by merely driving it off the lot and parking it in my driveway. I remember when my friend bought that Volvo and I thought it was new from the dealer. I would say talk to Josh because he was so awesome, but I interacted with several of the people there and found them ALL to be awesome. If kitschy spellings turn you off my advice is look past the Z in Car Lotz and pay them a visit. They've won me over and I'd even wear their t-shirt if they have one. It was a great experience from end-to-end; I'll definitely be back.
