The experience I had at Carmax echoes that of MANY others. I too had several unpleasant experiences at other dealerships. There is no need to go into details because most of you reading this have had those experiences as well...par for the course you might say. Many of my family members have purchased vehicles from Carmax, just in different locations. After an extensive shopping experience, I arrived at Carmax in Harrisonburg, VA. They proceeded to provide me with a very positive and memorable experience. I utilized their services online, over the phone, and in person. Ultimately, I traded a vehicle at a fair price, had several vehicles transferred to this location, ultimately purchased a very nice 2017 Chevy Tahoe with an extended warranty, and did a partial finance with Carmax Consumer Credit who gave me a very competitive rate. My salesman, Ian Grimm, was very professional and a pleasure to work with. All of the good things people say about Carmax are absolutely true! I have seen some reviews that indicate the prices are a little higher than some other types of dealerships. If you only look at the price of the vehicle as the context of its value, then you are missing the mark. In a day and age of horrible customer service across the board, Carmax redefines the standard of QUALITY customer service. So feel free to shop elsewhere and take the gamble or go to Carmax for a sure thing. Just to clarify, I am not intimidated by other dealerships or incapable of negotiating a car deal, but I chose to give my business to a company that earned it and deserves it.
