Comfort Inn Alexandria West - Landmark

Bad. I booked a room for my wife to come visit me. The price was right, but I clearly got what I paid for. Desk staff was friendly enough. Location was convenient and parking was free--there is the good bit. The bad bit: - reserved a king, got 2 doubles. They were sold out of Kings so unable to adjust our stay. - after our first night, I asked if any king rooms became available so we could move. I Was told they would call us in a few minutes and let us know. Spoiler alert: they didn't. Had to go ask again, and no, they didn't have any. - TV had no remote. Never brought one after calling and asking for one. - Internet is free, but getting connected was almost impossible as the splash page wouldn't ever load. It only ever worked on one of our devices. They also change the access code/password throughout the weekend without notice. - Audible street fights outside at early hours of the morning/night. - No extra blanket in the room. - There is a room service menu, but no silverware available in the hotel apparently. Had to go ask the IHOP for some place settings, and all we got were to-go plastic ones. - Place is overall dumpy appearance. They were in the midst of remodeling, but that wasn't even the issue. Honestly unsure if our room was remodeled or not, I hope that it wasn't. Maybe it'll look better afterward. I've stayed in Comfort Inns before and been pleased. I would definitely avoid this one though.
