Office made up their own policy of paying $100, even though my copay is $20. I argued with them about only paying what the insurance company agrees is the copay but they said I had to pay $100 since I hadn't reached my deductible. Once getting the claim back from my insurance and my insurance saying that I only needed to pay $20, I called the office and asked them to refund my $80 to the CC I used. They then said it had to go through accounting and they would send me a check. This didn't happen the first or second time, had to call 3 times to finally get my money back over 2 months later.
I also asked what would have happened to the $80 they owed me if I never called, they said it would have been a credit on my account. Since I am never going there again, I would have never used the credit.
Their made-up company policy is EXTREMELY UNETHICAL in two aspect, first, the insurance company has an agreement with them to accept the guidelines the insurance company lays out and two, not only did they take over 2 months to return the money that was mine all along, but if I never called or went there again, they would have made $80 more than they ever should have.
