Go to any Harris Teeter and you'll see it's kind of an upscale experience. But basically is just Kroger's Premier brand and unjustifiably so. But people are so into the upscale shopping experience they really feel like they getting bang-for-the-buck when they're just getting banged for their buck. Just look at the meat sales every Wednesday and you will notice that there is a separate price for anytime steaks go on sale. Harris Teeter offers their Rancher beef alongside their Angus beef and always and I mean always priced at $1 below the Angus. But as it turns out the Angus selection is USDA choice and the Rancher beef is USDA select which is an inferior grade, kind of like the Walmart beef that doesn't give you a grade it just says it's guaranteed that it is inspected. Don't get me wrong Harris Teeter does have good points but it's mostly a smoke and mirrors show. If you want high quality on par with or even better than Harris Teeter just cut out the middleman and go to Kroger.
