Home Energy Medics

We needed to fix seasonal cold spots in the home, and to replace inadequate and unhealthy blown-in fiberglass attic insulation. To source the causes of the cold disparities, Home Energy Medics performed a whole house energy audit which took 4-5 hours and involved a top-to-bottom visual inspection, thermal imaging and a blower door test that complies with national testing standards. This audit was followed by a very detailed, written proposal of work to address all of the areas of concern that were reviewed with us in a follow up meeting. This audit is a standalone service with no obligation to use HEM for any recommended work, however the audit fee is subtracted from the cost if the work is undertaken by the company. Since we checked out their references and reviews ahead of time, and liked how the audit was handled, we were confident that using HEM to do the work was the way to go. Everything proceeded in the timeframe promised. Everyone was cordial, polite, hard working, careful, thorough, professional and tidy. The company took great care to stay on top of things, to stay on schedule, and to communicate with us in a timely fashion. When everything was finished, a final test out was performed with measurable improvements documented along with final photographs. Our utility bill is substantially lower than it was in previous years, the cold spots are gone, the air quality in the home is healthier and cleaner, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a great, service-oriented company to work with and they know their stuff.

We decided that we wanted a home energy audit because we had just bought our house and frankly neither my wife or I know anything about home ownership and upkeep. Home Energy Medics was great. Lauren came out and gave us 5+ hours of her time, providing a thorough analysis of our energy efficiency and helped us figure out the projects we need to undertake to make our home safer and cheaper to operate. Once the audit was complete, Lauren came back with the company's owner Scott to walk us through the results. One great thing about this company is that after providing the audit, they didn't give us a "hard sell" about why we had to use them to rectify the issues the audit had identified. Their company is ready, willing, and able to do the work, but after giving us the audit they allowed us to have the space to figure out what was best for us. The information is invaluable because now I know what I need to do, and in what order, in order to maximize my home's efficiency and lower my bills. I haven't yet made the home improvements that were identified but I hope to do so soon and will likely use Home Energy Medics for the work when I'm ready to proceed. Very thorough company.
