We had a great experience buying our certified pre-owned vehicle from Nissan. Our salesman was Paul and he was very helpful and friendly and never pressured us. We understand that buying pre-owned means things may be uncertain. However, 3 weeks after buying the vehicle, the car started veering all over the road and the steering was uncontrollable. We took it in, told them the problem, they said they looked and nothing was wrong and sent us on our way, no charge because it was within a month of buying it. A month or so later while in upstate New York, the car steering started feeling loose and all over the road and then our whole entire control arm fell off and busted a hole in the tire rim. The technician in NY said that there was an entire bolt missing on the control arm and since the car acted the same way it did 3 weeks after we bought it, that that bolt had either always been missing or very loose and they should have caught it when we took it in in the first place. We were told by multiple other technicians that we were lucky we were going slow when the control arm fell off because it could've seriously injured or even killed us at high speed. We got a temporary fix in NY then took it back to Nissan of Chesapeake. Even though this should've been noticed and fixed when we took it in 3 weeks after buying it, it took lots of time on the phone and lots of frustration with Nissan to get them to not charge us for this fix since it wasn't within the month of buying it. They did end up fixing it at no cost but after so much headache. And now, just a week ago, the shift interlock broke. We again understand this may have not been an issue when the car was inspected and sold to us, but it's so much headache. We have only owned this car for 8 months and have had all these issues. We have it in a different shop than the Nissan of Chesapeake shop because we were sick of haggling with them and figured they wouldn't help us out at all with the cost of this fix.
