Petersburg National Battlefield

Great area to hike, run and learn about Virginia Civil War history. There's currently construction going on to make the area looking more like it did at the time. A great place for kids to run around, play, play at war, and learn. The visitor center has a movie running at regular intervals. Cut outs in the floor to give you an idea of the camps and layout. Also touch exhibits with clothes and other memorabilia. Along with glass cases of artifacts. There is an app. you can download with maps and facts, or a CD sold to accompany the well marked sites.
