I had a wonderful experience from start to finish with this company the project was started and completed on time and on budget. I was so happy with the results that I recommended this company to another family member and friend.
I contacted PMC to provide me with an estimate for a roof replacement. The two reps from the company who came to talk to me appeared to have limited knowledge of the products they were presenting, and were not able to answer detailed questions I asked about the products or their installation techniques. They did try to upsell a number of high priced options, including an underlayment called deck armor. Of the seven contractors I talked to, PMC was the only one that used the age-old technique of giving me a "special" deal today if I gave them a down payment of $500.00. All of the other contractors explained their products in detail, answered all of my questions, and didn't try to upsell anything. Lastly, they never did provide me with a written estimate for the job.
The initial proposal was light on details and not correctly scoped (i.e. repair 2x4's instead of 2x6's). Nonetheless, PMC was aggressive in beating other prices so I signed with them. After, I mistakenly asked some follow-up questions to confirm things discussed in person and over email (shingle type, ventilation, etc.). Mike came out without letting me know, re-scoped the work, and the price jumped! I wanted to switch contractors after this but they wouldn't let me because they said it had been more than 3 days (it had not been more than 3 business days though). In the end, decent work, but too much back-and-forth and price haggling. This sort of goes without saying, so shame on me, but make sure you get exactly what you expect on paper before you sign anything.
