Of all the Virginia state parks this is one of the most phenomenal especially in March and April with the bluebells are coming out. It’s has over 28 miles of hiking trails it follows the snaking path of the South Shenandoah River with the backdrop of the Fort Valley mountains right in front of you for a most picturesque setting. There’s something for everyone here you can camp you can bring your RV you can rent a cabin you can go hiking you can go horseback riding you can call any number of companies it go kayaking or canoeing down the rapids. I find it quite impossible to be bored in this park. The trails are always interesting and very different and the views are spectacular no matter where you are in the park. The best part is the staff there always very professional very courteous and helpful. They even loaned me bug spray one time!!
