Im sure the resort itself is lovely, but I met my parents for dinner at the Tavern and it was terrible. The service was awful. We came in and sat down and were given water in these tiny glasses and a jar to refill them with. We were then ignored for a long time. When we finally were able to place our order it took like 30 minutes to get our food and they werent even busy at all. We ran out of water before we got our food and never got more. The server even looked at it like 3 or 4 times and checked on us and still no water. They were really attentive to the people who ordered alcohol. The food was not at all impressive either. My sandwich was absolutely nothing special and my dads nachos were nothing to write home about. My mom got the crab soup and she said it was incredibly salty. This restaurant needs help for such a nice resort. I guess they make their money on alcohol.
*** Update 4/14/18 *** Wow. The place has changed the menu and taken away just about everything we liked. No more calamari. No nachos. No buffalo chicken wraps. We tried a reuben sandwich but the corned beef was cut too thick, therefore tough to chew. Tonight's wedge salad was seemingly about 2/3rds the normal size, and seemed to have about 1/3rd the normal toppings with no blue cheese crumbles at all. Made us sad... and left us wondering what happened. Two stars because the staff is still very nice. *** Original five star review *** We just call the place The Tavern and go there from time to time for a nice evening out without the kids. Great calamari... excellent selection of beer and spirits. Friendly staff. Limited menu, but really tasty stuff. Nice quiet place to get away, have upscale food and drink, watch the ball game from their couch, and play a game of pool. Over the years we have taken friends and family here, surprising them with this hidden gem. Now they hang out here too and bring their friends. It really is an classy bar first that happens to have good food options too.
