Just ridiculous and NO concept of CARE for patients. I am leaving a negative review mostly because the radiologist receptionist NANCY and few others. My mom had a trauma injury and fallen off from 9 stairs landing on her jaw/face area. Her teeths were all shattered and had physical pain as well. We were scheduled for a CAT scan here from the burke office. We had the confirmation booking receipt as well. When we arrived, we were told that they did not receive any orders from the doctor. I do UNDERSTAND that there can be mistakes like this but please THEN it should be fixed. The receptionist Nancy was just confused and kept repeating with a bad attitude that there was nothing she can do. She eventually called the other office but it was obviously closed. She contacted the urgent care side and the doctor there said we had to go and get checked in again and get seen AGAIN for there to be a new order. This was also ridiculous. If this was the case, it should have been way faster as well especially when this was for a critical trauma patient. However, we had to wait more than 4 hours just to get a 5 minute CAT scan. Doctor Banerjee was also of no help as she told the radiologist receptionist that there was no note of Dr. Ryan saying we needed a Cat scan on the medical record. The first line said we needed a CAT scan and also I had the receipt of confirmation as well. It was only after we had checked in again and she had seen my mom and the notes, she understood the seriousness of the situation.
The staff/nurse was also exceptionally rude saying that they were basically doing me a favor and had to walk all the way across to radiology to see how many people were in line because I asked can this be expedited. Really? Well, my mom (the injured trauma patient who didnt have anything to eat for a day due to pain) walked back and forth about 6 times because of your mistakes. If she had more injuries due to these errors and actions, are you guys going to take responsibility for this? We saw the PCP in the morning and due to their mistake, we had to be seen from Urgent care in the evening just for a CAT scan. We spent the entire day like this and my mom is in even more pain than before. Obviously no sympathy or common moral towards patients. As I said, I understand mistakes can happen and I was not frustrated for that. The follow up for the mistakes from these employees was what was not acceptable. The receptionists should have some moral ethics and training focused on HIPPA. Working in a health care setting means having feelings for patients and wanting to help. It is not just ANOTHER patient.
I am extremely disappointed that there was not a supervisor or someone of authority that had common sense or business/medical mind in site. Obviously if there is someone is in a critical state, don't just stand back and say "well there isn't a doctor's order and nothing we can do". Especially when this was due to YOUR mistake. 4 hours of stress for a 5 minute CAT scan for a trauma patient in pain. Great job
