I am having my wedding in Leesburg and went to the visitors center two months ahead of time to order visitors guides, maps and a personalized letter for our hotel welcome bags. They said they needed a couple weeks to get the material together.
We returned to pick our our items for our out-of-town guests and nothing was prepared. The personalized letter was never created and the visitors guide "was out at printing and unavailable". Additionally in the mean time the Wine Guide which was awesome was now replaced with a cheap self printed paper on both sides-something I could print at home. They also stated they had "no dining guides" available. I am sorry but visitors would probably enjoy more then a wine trail and an ale trail-people do more then just drink.
I am very disappointed that we were told we would be given these guides and letter and were given nothing of the sorts. Our welcome bag items that they gave us are pathetic and now I am stuck scrambling trying to put a welcome package together two days before my wedding.
If you are a single group getting things together I am sure walking in and getting one of everything would be fine, but if you are having an event do not rely on them to be a welcome center that will actually provide you with welcome items for your guests.
