This will be my daughter's third year at Wakefield and I couldn't be happier about the education that she is receiving. Starting school was a tough adjustment for the whole family! The teachers were so nurturing and attentive to our needs as a family and made sure that my daughter was well taken care of. Today, my daughter loves school and is blossoming in every way possible. Wakefield didn't just look at her as another toddler who was homesick. She was viewed as an individual and was taken care of in just the way that was needed for her. I feel as if my daughter is with an extension of our family when I drop her off at school each morning. When we walk into her classroom building, everyone from the Headmaster to the French teacher knows her name and greets her warmly, as they do with each student. That may seem like a little gesture, but it goes a long way in building a sense of community.
The academic component at Wakefield is first-rate. Even the youngest children at the school, like my daughter, are exposed to music, art, French, Spanish, technology and physical education, each taught by qualified and dedicated teachers. This is on top of the curriculum taught by her teacher, who is extremely talented. The small class size allows the teacher to get to know each child individually so that she can strengthen their weaknesses and highlight their talents.
Wakefield instills in their youngest students a love of learning that will last a lifetime. The new Headmaster and the new Head of Lower School are leading Wakefield into a new and exciting era!
