I was directed to wysiwyg gallery by the Staunton Visitors Center and made a point of stopping in once it was recommended by several other locals as well. Their focus is on fine craft and art made within the local region. They have a wonderful selection of items, all hand-crafted, many with prices well under $50! Their pottery selection is great and they have several jewelers working in non-precious media (principally glass and paper collage) that put together gorgeous pieces that you can buy for very little money. Virtually any artistic medium you can think of is there: painting, photography, knitting, felting, metalwork, pottery, etc. This is a great place to go for gifts if you're looking for something completely distinctive and made by hand. It sure beats the "big box" shopping experience and you're supporting local artists and craftspeople as well.
