Dr. Khalil is very knowledgeable and helpful; however, his staff is rude and condescending! I’m a latino petite woman who had a fire emergency that morning so I had to leave my place as soon as I could. Therefore I wasn’t looking great but I was certainly showered and clean! I arrived to my appointment 30 minutes earlier but I was totally rushed the entire time I was in the office and even one of the receptionists picked my belongings without my permission to have me moving faster. Once my evaluation with the Dr. finished, I requested to have the estimates for the dental work he recommended; however, the assistant said I’d need to start with the dental work before I get the complete estimates, which didn’t sound reasonable to me because one procedure doesn’t have to do anything with the other. Anyhow, they prepared a single treatment estimate for me but when I went to pick it up, the receptionist did not want to print it and I had to ask her THREE TIMES for it before she did it. She would say: “You can come back once you are ready, your insurance wouldn’t cover it”, “you may want to look somewhere else”, “and it’d be $$, do you still want me to print it (poor woman)?”
I have a Graduate degree and know how to search for doctors, I knew my insurance wouldn’t cover before I even made the appointment, and yes, I can definitely afford the estimate they gave me. The question is whether or not I will go back to that office again. I honestly felt so poorly treated and obviously it was because the way I look and I sound. I left the office in tears and couldn’t understand how I couldn’t react to the condescending commentaries of that receptionist fast enough. It’s late now but I thought I would share my experience for others to be aware.
