EDIT: Got home and called the call center. They got in touch with the GM at the store (which the cashiers, plural, did not do), and said to come back as they would replace the item. One cashier walked passed me without acknowledging me, and then they were both very rude as they did the exchange, like I was being a burden on their work. There were no other customers in the store. They also took back my receipt so I have no proof of purchase for the replacement parts and thus the warranty won't be effective.
Plus 2 stars for the manager explaining what a guarantee means to the cashiers as I walked in the store.

Even if both the box and receipt say 1 year replacement guarantee and that you can bring it back to the point of purchase, the store will not honor it. They make you go through the manufacturer.
